Methods of Yoga

Power Yoga

Challenge the body, challenge the mind

Power Yoga is an invigorating yet challenging asana (posture) practice, both mentally and physically, that takes you on a journey through a progressive series of postures synchronised with and initiated by the breath. Cultivating the breathing technique of ujjayi helps produce intense internal heat, and often a profuse, purifying sweat, and allows you to work deep into the connective tissues of the joints, muscles and organs, which detoxifies and strengthens the body and mind. Experience enhanced circulation throughout the body's vital systems; develop strength and stamina both mentally and physically; and cultivate lightness of body and clarity of mind.

Flow Yoga

Dance with the flow of life

Flow Yoga is a dynamic form of traditional hatha yoga that focuses on synchronising breath with movement, awareness with alignment and strength with suppleness. Allow your body and mind to be guided through a flowing series of postures, to develop grace and stamina and to experience a state of renewed energy. Develop strength, stability and suppleness; purify the vital systems of the body; and find quietness of mind and renewed energy.

Hatha Yoga

Balance the body, still the mind

Hatha yoga focuses on alignment of the muscular-skeletal system and opening of the energetic channels (known as nadis or meridians), particularly in the spine. Ha meaning "sun" and tha meaning "moon", refers to the balance of solar and lunar aspects of ourselves: masculine and feminine, active and receptive, hot and cool, yang and yin and as such results in creating balance and uniting opposites. The practice of hatha yoga results in alignment and suppleness of the body and encourages stillness of the mind and a peaceful state of being.
